Pilar blood fiesta

EVERY year the town of Pilar de Horadada holds a fiesta of blood donations to coincide with the National Fiestas. This year the occasion was attended by the Mayor of the municipality, Ignacio Ramos García, the Councilor of Health, Trini Escarabajal Sáez, the local delegate from the Centre of Transfusion of Alicante, Carmen Samper Campillo, the developer of the Transfusion Centre, Francisco Sepulcro Sabuco and the famous Pilar poet, Esperanza Carrasco Jiménez. In turn they thanked the donors for the donation, saying that the lives of many people depended on the blood.Carmen Campillo encouraged donors to continue the good work in the years to come.
Esperanza Carrasco Jiménez once again gave a poetry reading for all of the participants. All of those who donated blood received a plaque that displayed the shield of Pilar de Horadada, a gift and a glass of wine. .....
