• 19 Apr 2007 •

Foreign students: Met Torremolinos mayor.THE mayor of Torremolinos, Pedro Fernandez Montes, has received a delegation of students and teachers from Italy, Poland, Turkey and France, who are participating in a project named ‘Territory, tourism and European Integration’ which is part of the Comenius European Exchange programme, currently in its second year.

The headmistress of Los Manantiales College of Secondary Education, Cristina Fernandez Matinez, presented the delegation to the mayor, who was accompanied by the Councillor for Education, Encarnacion Navarro Rico, and the Councillor for Tourism, Maria Jose Jimenez Velasco.

Through this programme, students and teachers get to visit two different countries, take part in educational activities and visit the most famous tourist attractions.

Three teachers from Los Manantiales College visited Italy, Poland and Turkey, where they exchanged experiences and knowledge with local counterparts.

The mayor wished the group a pleasant stay and gave them copies of the book, ‘New Torremolinos’, which contains information of interest about the town.
