THE Els Poblets English Speaking Residents Group, held their final meeting with the mayor before the elections. The mayor thanked the founder of the group, Heather Crowe, and made a presentation of a ceramic plaque depicting the arms of the village, in recognition of the work she had done in integrating new arrivals. The residents were thanked for the presentation of 300 euros to provide a new play apparatus for children. Heather officially announced that she would be standing as a PP councillor, representing the English residents, but also affirmed that the group would continue to be non-political with the sole aim of helping new and old arrivals, and arranging excursions to places of interest for all nationalities living in or around the village.
