THE PUBLIC PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE in Malaga has filed a case against a dog breeder who sold a chow chow for 1,500 euros saying the pup came from an excellent bloodline and was the offspring of a prize-winning dog. The dog belonged to the Perros de Bigo variety valued at 900 euros, but the breeder was passing it off as belonging to the Saldeños variety, which costs approximately 600 euros more. The buyer is demanding 6,600 euros as it has affected the animal’s documentation and the litters resulting from its breeding. The breeder could face one year in prison for fraud.
