Free guided visits to Ancient Art Museum

THE National Museum of Ancient Art, in Lisbon, will be offering free guided visits on the last Wednesday of each month during an initiative which will be held until November.

The museum’s collection of paintings is the most focused during the tours, although sculpture and decorative arts are also shown in a journey from the 14th to the 17th centuries. Visitors’ attention is mainly drawn to the projection and explanation of a painting depicting St. Vincent, created by the Portuguese artist Nuno Gonçalves in 1470.

The success of a first series of guided tours last year made the museum at the Janelas Verdes Street repeat the offer and show its treasures in visits beginning at 6pm.
