Port authorities ask for new bus line

PORT AUTHORITIES have asked Malaga bus company EMT to look into the viability of a new bus line between the new docks for cruise ships and ferries and the city centre. While tourists used to have to walk only five minutes to get to Calle Larios from the old dock at Plaza de la Marina, the docks are now three kilometres away. Currently there is a bus every 30 minutes, but this bus is sponsored by travel agencies. Cruise ship owners complain that they have to dock far from the centre which can be problematic since many of their passengers are elderly people who cannot walk the long distance to the centre, and the current bus schedule is insufficient.
