152 more schools set to become bilingual
• 03 May 2007 • A FURTHER 152 schools will become bilingual, the majority in English but some in French, when the new educational year opens in September.
This will bring the number of bilingual centres in Andalucia - including infant, primary and secondary schools - to 403, serving a total of 19,000 students. The Education Council will hire 401 teachers and 755 language assistants for support work to make the expanded bi-lingual educational programme possible. The additional schools that will become bilingual in English in Malaga Province are Alejandro Garcia Garrido in Alcaucin, Valle del Sol in Alora, Cerro del Viento in Arroyo de la Miel, Andalucia in Fuengirola, Sierra Blanca in Marbella, Sierra Almijara in Nerja, Doctor Rodriguez Delgado in Ronda, and Blas Infante in Torre del Mar.
The Manual Fernandez, Paulo Freire, Bergamin, Los Guindos and Jardin de Malaga schools in Malaga City will additionally become bilingual. | Return to Top
