Tavira Gastronomy festival
• 10 May 2007 •
Tavira is hosting the fourth Sea Gastronomy Festival until May 20, during which thirteen local restaurants will be offering typical dishes of the Algarve region.
Many specialities will be based on octopus and tuna at the culinary event, where the most important factors are creativity in the choice of the menus and the way the dishes are cooked, together with the quality and freshness of the ingredients.
Algarve’s most typical dish, the cataplana will also be part of the festival. The cataplana is also the name of the special cookware used to prepare the dish, which is traditionally made of copper and shaped like two clamshells hinged at one end and able to be sealed using a clamp on either side. The thirteen restaurants joining the festival are: Bica (Tavira), Brisa do Rio (Tavira), Cabanas Park (Aparthotel Cabanas Park - Cabanas), Casa do Abade (Santa Luzia), Galeão (Tavira), Inevitável (Hotel Vila Galé Albacora – Tavira), Churrasqueira do Livramento (Luz de Tavira), Marés (Tavira), Pedro (Cabanas), Quatro Águas (Tavira), Riamar (Tavira), Rive Gauche (Tavira) and Vincent (Santa Luzia). | Return to Top
