Fugitive caught out by his prints

• 10 May 2007 •

A 65-YEAR-OLD Cuban has been arrested by police in Arroyo de la Miel for two murders and one attempted murder committed in 1982 in Dade County in the United States.

Fingerprints on his residence permit alarmed the authorities as they matched prints on a warrant issued by the American FBI.

The man is said to have lived in a homeless shelter and was seen begging for money.

It is thought he will be extradited to the United States to stand trial.
