Armed robber caught

TWO National Police Officers from Ronda have arrested Miguel Angel E.B, aged 30, outside a supermarket in Avenida de Velazquez in Malaga while they were on their day off.

They intervened when they saw the man run out of the supermarket whilst trying to hide a gun inside his trousers. The suspect made off on foot and a chase followed, during which the aggressor threatened to shoot the officers three times.

Although the man tried to resist arrest, the police did manage to detain him after a struggle.

Witnesses later testified that he had tried to rob the supermarket by holding a gun to a pregnant employee’s abdomen to force her to give him the money from the till.

Several people who witnessed another armed robbery in April which happened in Alazores Street in Malaga, have since identified him as the offender who had threatened them with a knife.

The man has previous arrests for unrelated crimes.
