THE first Latin American Fair of Cultural Integration took place at the site of Malaga’s annual August fair near the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos between May 3 and 6.
The event began with an inaugural show on the first day, followed by an action-packed weekend of activities including concerts, typical Latin American dance shows and possibly the most important of all – consuming traditional food and drink.
Almost every country in the continent was represented, with individual marquees serving up everything from Argentinian meat and ice cream and Mexican tacos to Chilean empanadas and, of course, Cuban mojitos, in glasses of all sizes, to wash it all down.
There were also stalls selling all sorts of products ranging from jewellery, clothes and decorations to coffee and jars of dulce de leche.
French crepes, Moroccan mint tea and Egyptian crafts were also on offer, as well as bread from Galicia.
Close by at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos, various companies were exhibiting their products at the Feria de Muestras de Empresas Malagueñas, (a fair aimed at local firms) also on between May 3 and 6, including bread, cars, water fountains, ecological items, reclining chairs which massage the body, log cabins, motor homes, furniture, hammocks, fans, hams, cheese, wine, Aloe Vera make-up, sunbeds and a campaign to save Madagascar. | Return to Top
