THE MUNICIPAL Ice-Skating Club in Benalmadena has proved to be a great success. It opened in January and already more than 300 people are taking ice-skating lessons. Oscar Moreno, a skating instructor at the complex says it has been a great experience to work with all his pupils, from the five-year-olds to those in their forties and claims he has enjoyed seeing the progress they have all made. The kids especially enjoy classes and after a few falls, some of them have become really good skaters and love to spend as much time as possible sliding around on the ice-rink. The 7,000m2 complex also has two indoor swimming pools, an excellently equipped fitness centre, several multiple use halls, a specialised medical centre, sports shop and a cafeteria. The 600m2 skating rink is covered but the centre is designed to let in natural light and offers views of the coast. There are 400 pairs of skates on hire and a rink-side cafeteria.
