Car owners face costly daily drive

CAR OWNERS in Andalucia spend 3,870 euros - 23 per cent of their salaries – on their vehicles on average each year.

The approximate costs of ownership on a near 20,000 euros mid-range vehicle in addition to depreciation are broken down into 350 euros for insurance, around 1,000 euros for fuel, 34 euros for ITV and 120 euros for tax, adding up to just over 10 euros a day.

This means the average wage earner works 1.5 hours a day to pay for a vehicle.

In addition to these costs, there are parking charges.
