Summer weather is set to hot up apartment rents

WARM weather on the Costa del Sol is already seeing property owners preparing for the peak summer months when they can drastically increase their rental income.

With hopes that recent rainy spells disappear, owners of apartments near the beach very much favour short-term contracts during July and August, with 600 euros a week fairly common in many areas including Nerja and Benalmadena, and 1,900 euros a week in more exclusive areas including Marbella.

The average price a month for most coastal holiday apartments does not dip below 2,000 euros during the main summer months, though rent levels begin to fall once more in September, especially after children return to school throughout Europe following the summer break.
