Rise in abuse of foreign women"

FOREIGN women represent over 20 per cent of the victims of sexual violence in Andalucia. This percentage rises year after year and has reached 21.3 per cent in the first quarter of 2007 according to the Andalucia Women’s Institute (IAM). More foreign women find their way to the institute to report abuse by their spouse or ex-spouse which shows that in the Malaga province 37 per cent of the total cases of sexual abuse are reported by women who don’t have Spanish nationality.
