Two rescued from apartment blaze

Homes blaze: Firemen in action during the drama.

TWO people had to be rescued by firemen from a sixth-floor blaze in the Diorama apartment building in Arroyo de la Miel. The fire, which is believed to have started in the kitchen of one apartment, quickly spread through other rooms and to the apartment next door. The owners of both apartments were taken by ambulance to the University Hospital in Malaga suffering from anxiety and smoke inhalation.

Both apartments were extensively damaged but the fire was prevented from spreading further due to the rapid intervention of the firemen and Local Police, who cordoned off the area. Nearby residents also had to be evacuated from their homes during the blaze.
