Costa del Sol hospital expansion project

THE Costa Del Sol Hospital in Marbella will be investing one million euros in the most ambitious expansion project in its history. As a result of the increase in patients during the last few years the projects objective is to create more space and open 30 more rooms. The entire project is expected to take at least eight or nine months.

According to the managing director of the hospital, Jose Antonio Garcia, during the next few weeks the alteration work will affect around 700 square metres of the fifth floor, where the doctor’s rooms and offices will be transferred to the ground floor to make more space available for patients. At the moment the hospital, opened in 1993, has 400 rooms. Given that the area has more than 650,000 inhabitants this is insufficient, specially in the summer months.
