Statue loses its head

ONE of Coin’s most emblematic statues, the angel on the fountain in the local Alameda square, was recently the victim of vandalism. The 18th century statue has lost its head, which is now being repaired by the town hall and will be put back in place as soon as possible. At first, the head was believed to have been stolen but was later found in the fountain where it may have fallen after being hit with stones.

This blue marble fountain is one of the oldest that exists in Coin and the Garcia Aguera Cultural Foundation insists on how important it is to repair it due to its historical and cultural value.
