Man who butchered father cleared

A 23-YEAR-OLD schizophrenic man who strangled and cut up his father and then distributed the pieces throughout Torremolinos, has been absolved of the crime of murder due to psychological problems. He will, however, have to remain in a mental institute for 20 years and pay the victim’s family 180,000 euros in compensation. The incident occurred in February 2006, when the young man approached his sleeping father, hitting him several times over the head. He then strangled him and sawed off his arms and his legs.
