Double murder suspect found guilty

THE man who was tried last week for the murder of a British couple he lived with in Mijas in 2005, has been found guilty by a people’s jury in Malaga Provincial Court.

He has been charged with two counts of murder and will also be sentenced for damages caused when he doused the couple’s home with varnish and set fire to it to destroy evidence.

The judge will dictate the   sentence within the next few days and also decide how much compensation  the accused must pay to the victims’ families. Until then he is on  provisional release and continues to protest his innocence.
