Drugs haul in Cabopino

GUARDIA CIVIL officers arrested five people age between 19 and 35, in the Cabopino area of Marbella found to be carrying 57 packages of hashish amounting to 1,275 kilos.

Benalmadena Sea Patrol squads spotted their boat anchored near Cabopino port and it was later detected on radar by the Malaga External Vigilance Service, who alerted Marine Rescue and nearby patrols, in case the boat headed for land. Minutes later, it entered the port and the occupants got out and began to pack the drugs in a van.

Guardia Civil officers arrived on the scene and the smugglers attempted to escape in the direction of Marbella but were detained and charged with endangering Public Health.

The van and a rubber dinghy were seized, along with their haul.
