Police warn of lottery scam

MALAGA police have detected thousands of letters sent from the city, telling recipients that they have won large amounts of money on the   lottery. As many as 15,000 letters are being sent daily to destinations around the world. This scam has been seen many times before, but it can still generate millions of euros for the fraudsters as the winners are asked to pay expenses first. False documentation is used to open bank or Western Union accounts to collect the defrauded money.
