Headmaster attacked by angry relative

THE 43-year-old headmaster of the Torre del Prado Centre of Secondary Education in Campanillas, was attacked by the brother of a pupil he had expelled. The pupil, aged 15, had been expelled for 29 days earlier in the week for hitting a classmate in the arm with a stick.

His 25-year-old brother burst into the centre, threatened the headmaster, punched him several times, causing him considerable injuries, and left. The victim has had to take time off work and is said to be very upset by the event. In his 20 years in teaching, he claims he has experienced violent situations but nothing like this. He has reported the attack to police and will be offered free legal aid.
