Wanted German fugitive arrested

OFFICERS from the Estepona Police Fugitive Location and Apprehension Group have arrested a 30-year-old German man from Dohna. Police and Guardia Civil sources have said the man was wanted by the German Government for obstructing an insolvency procedure and serious bankruptcy charges.

The accused allegedly took large amounts of money from at least five different anonymous German societies between 2002 and 2003. According to police sources, these societies had been declared insolvent.

In August 2002, he allegedly set up his own company in Marbella and was listed as administrative director of another five mercantile companies for which he presented insolvency applications. He allegedly destroyed these companies’ accounting records and kept payments for himself. Following extradition proceedings, the suspect will be returned to Germany to face charges.
