Excavator injury

• 31 Oct 2007 •

A BUILDER, aged 49, was hurt in Malaga after being hit by the bucket of an excavator in the back while he was working on the municipal car park in the Salitre Street. The worker was taken to the Emergency department of Carlos Haya Hospital. The workers’ union CCOO have said they will report the incident because when they visited the scene they found “deficiencies” in building security. Spokesperson for the syndicate said that “there should not be any more deaths at work, especially in the construction business and that they will do all they can to reduce the high rate of accidents suffered not only in Malaga but in all Spain.” So far this year in the Malaga Province 12 people have died in work.
