Violent gang captured

POLICE FORCES in Marbella and Estepona have collaborated in the uncovering of an organised gang dedicated to drug trafficking and violent robberies.

Four members of the gang have been arrested, among them a 28-year-old Morrocan identified as the man who kidnapped and robbed a couple from Albolote, Granada in June.

Reportedly the couple where robbed of 90,000 euros as well as a large amount of jewellery.

The investigations led to the confiscation of numerous jewels, designer watches, a gun and false documents and identification.

The other arrested members are three brothers from France, one of whom is believed to be the leader of the gang. According to investigative sources he had eight false identities and is wanted in his home-country for various crimes which,on conviction, would total 30 years in jail.

The other two are a 29-year-old and a 28-year-old both with previous police records in France.
