Pick-pockets uncovered

THE Guardia Civil have arrested a pick-pocketing group of two men and one woman, all from Malaga. The men, aged 78 and 60 and the woman, aged 48 all with lengthy records of previous offences, are accused of numerous thefts in the Balearics, Cataluña and Andalucia. According to Efe sources, they would travel to Gran Canaria and Tenerife during autumn and winter to prey on tourists.
According to sources the group focused on hotel lobbies, markets and commercial centres – mixing with the crowds, pretending to be tourists. The investigation, code-named ‘Operation Asilo’, proved difficult due to the experience and skills of the thieves. |  Return to Top
