THE Ruedas Redondas (Round Wheels) Association for cyclists has travelled several routes in Malaga by bike to protest about the lack of cycle lanes. Now, Malaga Town Hall plans to introduce 62Km of cycle lanes within the next six years.One would run along the eastern coast, from Malaga centre to El Candado. An 11-kilometre track should be finished by 2008 as should the western coast track from the centre to the Termica, along the promenade, approximately 8.5km. Another track would run along Avenida Herrera Oria from the old town to the Faculty of Medicine (7.7km) while on the northern side of town, cyclists would be able to travel easily to Finca La Concepcion (6.7km) although this route is not planned until 2009.
