Award-winning resort improves golf academy

• 21 Nov 2007 •

Challenging: One of the holes at the ‘Pine Cliffs’RECENT winner of Portugal’s ‘Leading Golf Resort’ at the 2007 World Travel Awards, the Pine Cliffs Golf Academy in Albufeira has announced its plans for the 2007-8 season, witch include a new golfing director, two top pros and a selection of new and improved courses for all levels.

Since his appointment as director of golf, Dean Nelson has been working with his team of PGA professionals, Mónia Bernardo and Daniel Warwick, to re-design the golf academy structure at Pine Cliffs Golf and Country Club to offer a wider variety of packages for all ages from novices to experts, as well as delivering individual and group lessons in English, Spanish, Portuguese and German.

The Pine Cliffs’ golf academy practice area includes now a landscaped driving range with nine different flag positions, a chipping green, a pitching and bunker area as well as several putting greens. One of the novelties for this season is the ‘Learn Golf in a Week’ package, specifically designed for beginners. More experienced golfers might want to improve their skills with a bronze, silver or gold course.
