Youth killed outside Benalmadena disco

Club scene: Tragedy followed for one young man.

A 17-YEAR-OLD youth from Malaga has died after being stabbed to death outside the Kiu disco in Plaza Solymar, Benalmadena Costa. Local Police have arrested two young men, aged 17 and 20, who attempted to flee the scene of the crime and were later identified as the attackers.

A fight apparently broke out when the victim was trying to defend the girlfriend of one of his friends during an argument. The fight spilled out on to the Avenida de Mijas, where the youth was stabbed in the thigh and the chest. His friends called the emergency services but although paramedics attempted to resuscitate him, they failed to save his life. In the meantime, police, alerted by the victim’s friends, pursued two men who attempted to escape by car but were caught when they were involved in an accident. They were taken to Torremolinos police station and have been remanded in custody.

The dead teenager’s friends and relatives have had to receive counselling following the incident.
