Congratulations Arnold and Joy

 The Euro Weekly News would like to express our sincere congratulations to Arnold and Joy Lincoln, who are celebrating their sixtieth wedding anniversary on November 22.
Joy, aged 78, and originally from Hampshire, tells us there was nothing romantic about the way they met, in a pub in Norfolk when she was coming back from a day at the Newmarket Races and stopped for a drink with her parents.
However, Arnold, aged 88, is quick to remind her that he had known her from a little girl and used to see her passing by the butcher’s shop where he worked. They were married on November 22, 1947, after just six months courting and they have one son and two granddaughters.
After Arnold retired, 23 years ago, the couple moved to Spain seeking a warmer climate and are very glad they decided to do so. They say they have spent a happy time here and met lots of lovely people.
They are extremely grateful to their mostly Spanish neighbours, who they say are very friendly and would also like to thank some very special English friends they have on the Costa who take great care of them.
Finally, we asked the couple the secret to such a long and happy marriage. Joy tells us that it is all in ‘give and take’ and being strong enough to overcome the small problems.
We hope this lovely couple will see many more happy years together.
