Nine hours too young
• 29 Nov 2007 • ONE of the youths accused of stabbing to death a 17-YEAR-OLD boy from Malaga outside the Kiu disco in Plaza Solymar, Benalmadena Costa, has appeared before a minor’s judge and will be sent to a reformatory. Local Police arrested him and another man, aged 20, when they were attempting to flee the crime scene.
The victim, who died at the scene despite the attempts of paramedics to save his life, had been stabbed in the thigh and the chest. The weapon which was used, believed to be a small knife, has not been found.
The older of the culprits, from Mijas, has been sent to Alhaurin de la Torre prison on remand without bail. The other youth, also from Mijas, was just nine hours away from being 18 years old when the crime was committed and will remain at a youth detention centre for at least six months awaiting trial. If he is found guilty, he could face eight years in prison for murder.
There have been many complaints recently about the lack of security in this area and local people are worried about the mounting number of crimes committed by youths who are partying in local bars and discos. | Return to Top
