Fuengirola’s beaches to be improved

FUENGIROLA Town Hall and the Junta de Andalucia will be financing improvements to the town’s coast including cleaning of beaches, installation of sports equipment and further rescue measures. Nearly half a million euros worth of sports equipment is expected to be ready by the beginning of next year.

Fuengirola Town Hall and the Council of Beaches have already begun the process of purchasing new equipment and exercise machines worth 463,000 euros.

The scheme will finance a beach cleaning machine, two rescue boats, three coast guards, three wooden public toilets, 1,500 metres of wooden footbridges, two playgrounds and three sports machines suitable for disabled people or seniors. The new additions are subsidised by the Junta Tourism Council, which will be providing 60 per cent of the costs while the rest will be financed by Fuengirola Town Hall.
