Old quarter road improvements

ONE million euros is to be invested in a programme of improvement and restoration of the old quarter in Benalmadena Pueblo. The town hall plans to focus specifically on Calle Lomilla and Maestra Ayala, two of the main streets, the objective being to bring them up to the standard of Calle Real or Santo Domingo. The project will be financed by the Junta de Andalucia as part of the ‘Plan Qualifica’, which is aimed at modernising tourist areas throughout the Costa del Sol.
According to the mayor, who recently visited the area, these two streets are very narrow and have no pavements, the houses accessing straight on to the road. Residents on both streets, are increasingly concerned about the danger from speeding vehicles passing through the pueblo.
As a result of these complaints, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor have announced that, as an immediate solution, more speed-humps will be added along the street. |  Return to Top
