King loses fight against rape bid prison sentence

• 22 Mar 2007 •

King: Lost appealTHE Supreme Court has turned down an appeal by convicted British killer Tony King against a seven year jail sentence and payment of 11,500 euros compensation to the victim of an attempted rape in Benalmadena in 2001.

Originally from Britain where he is known as the Holloway Strangler, the defence team of King had appealed against the sentence awarded by the Malaga Provincial Court last June.

King is at present in prison serving sentences following convictions for the Costa del Sol murders of Rocio Wanninkhof and Sonia Carabantes. He initially admitted killing the two girls, but then retracted both confessions when the cases came to trial.

Testimony and evidence provided by King´s former wife helped the authorities prove the cases against King, who earlier served a prison sentence in England.
