Mum uncovers child pornography network

NATIONAL POLICE have arrested 13 people in several Spanish provinces – three of them in Malaga – as a result of an investigation into internet files which were accidentally found by a woman in Malaga. According to the woman, she had recently had a child and was surfing the net searching for information on babies. She stumbled across two suspicious looking files while looking up the word “baby” on a well known peer-to-peer (or P2P) computer network. Police sources said the woman immediately reported the files which clearly showed “repulsive and disturbing” images of two adults sexually abusing a minor.

The ensuing investigation enabled National Police to find the distributors of the material but have not yet determined the source.

Police sources also stated that as a result of the searches carried out, millions of child pornography files have been confiscated as well as 13 hard drives, 500 DVDs and 720 CDs.

None of the three arrested in Malaga worked with minors.
