News from Age Concern, Estepona and Manilva

• 22 Mar 2007 •

International Day

THE first International Fiesta for 2007, organised by Estepona Council, is being held on Sunday, April 22 at the Palacio de Congresos in Estepona. Age Concern will be there on stand number 13 selling all types of homemade produce as well as teas and coffees.

This is always a well-supported stand, therefore we need as much produce as possible. Sandwiches will be made on the day, but pledges are needed from people to make cakes, jams, biscuits, sausage rolls, pies – anything that can be consumed on site or taken away.

Pledge your support to this cause by phoning 951 318 234 now and leaving your contact details or email tonyaldous55@yahoo.co.uk.

Age Concern Shop

The Age Concern shop, in Calle Zaragoza, Estepona, is open from 10am-1.30pm, Monday-Saturday inclusive, selling clothes, books, pictures, bric-a-brac and so on.

Currently, we need more pictures, bedding and bric-a-brac as each delivery is normally sold within a day or so. Please dig out as much as you can of all your unwanted items and donate them to Age Concern.

Donations can be taken directly to the shop, or call 951 318 234 and ask to speak to the duty manager.

Age Concern needs five volunteers a day to run the shop and keep it stocked with new items for our discerning customers.

If you have a few hours a week to spare then come and join the current happy band of staff and get a real kick out of working with us.

Ring 951 318 234 now and leave your details so that an application form can be sent to you. No experience needed, on-the-job training provided.

Lifeline

For elderly people who require help or advice Age Concern operate a telephone service called Lifeline, a direct point of contact with the charity.

The telephone number is 650 163 928.
