Man dies in Malaga after being attacked by his own dog

THE victim had gone to a warehouse in Calle Ronda, Malaga to feed his dog when the animal jumped up and attacked him. The man, aged 40, from Cañete La Real, Malaga, died from his injuries. Neighbours heard screams and when they went to investigate found the man lying on the floor and the dog, a cross between a Mastiff and an Alsatian, still on top of him although it was tied up.

They used a large stick to get the dog off the victim and managed to drag him away.

Police have said that the man had got caught up in the dog’s chain and could not escape. They also believe that he died from blood loss. He had been bitten on the face and chest. He had only owned the dog for three months and neighbours claim he looked after it very well.

The animal was taken to a dog pound and a judge will decide its fate.
