Pharmacies robbed
• 27 Dec 2007 • February review
FOUR PHARMACIES in Malaga have been robbed in less than 48 hours. Three of them had their windows smashed with manhole covers and, in another case, a group of four armed men robbed a chemist’s shop in Torremolinos. Apparently, the owner was in the back room and her 79-year-old handicapped father was in the shop with two employees. She was about to shut for the night when a man came in asking for assistance, soon followed by three others. They were carrying guns and pushed everyone to the floor, kicking them, causing minor injuries and pulling the owner’s hair. They put a gun into the father’s mouth to make him stop shouting. The robbers took more than 5,000 euros in cash and 12,000 euros in jewellery and watches that they ripped from their victims.Clients from a bar next door tried to prevent their escape, but the men, who are apparently Romanian, pointed guns at them and got away. However, no shots were fired and when the owner was being taken to the police station, she recognised one of the men at a petrol station and he was immediately arrested. | Return to Top
