Violent kidnapper may get 54 years
• 17 Jan 2008 • PROSECUTORS are asking for 54 years in jail for a 20-year-old man accused of mistreating, raping and holding his 15-year-old girlfriend hostage for several days in a house in the La Corta neighbourhood in Malaga City. The couple had been seeing each other for nine months, during which the minor suffered all kinds of humiliations, threats, insults and mistreatment at the hands of her boyfriend.
According to prosecutors the first incident occurred early on in the relationship - while she lived in Benalmadena and he in Malaga – the accused allegedly hit her and called her a prostitute after which he threatened to kill her if she told anyone what had happened. Then, months later the victim and a female friend were sleeping over at his house when he entered the room and hit his girlfriend on the legs with a piece of wood. The next incident occurred just days later in the bathroom when he allegedly grabbed her by the hair and threw her on the floor. The first of three rape incidents occurred just days after. Two weeks later the victim told him she wanted to break up with him which resulted in an argument which ended with her being beaten and then raped again. After several more incidents involving threats and insults, the minor decided to try and end the relationship once again but he would not accept this. He allegedly kidnapped her from her house using death threats and locked her in his house in La Corta for two days with the help of another person who has not yet been identified. Prosecutors say during these two days the man kicked, punched, pinched, verbally abused the victim and threatened to cut out her tongue. The victim managed to escape from the house in a moment of distraction; she went to a friend’s house for help. When the aggressor caught up with her, he punched her and tried to kidnap her again but the victim’s friends were able to stop him. Prosecutors have assured that the aggressor has caused the victim severe post-traumatic stress. | Return to Top
