Construction work on cultural centre to continue

Cultural centre: will be three story building and

CONSTRUCTION work on the new cultural centre in Alhaurin el Grande, which has been postponed for eight months, may continue in the middle of this year as the Town Hall has approved two million euros for the project. According to the Town Hall, this decision was made after the Junta de Andalucia did not concede the three million euro subvention asked for to complete the second phase. The Town Hall will also finance the rest of the project with its own funds.

The cultural centre will house the future public library as well as a Spanish literature centre.

The construction centre is one of the electoral promises made by the governing team and is expected to be a three storey building which will house the Gerald Brenan Foundation base as well as several exhibition and multiple use halls for conferences and cultural events. It will also have an underground car park with 55 parking spaces.
