CAP’s handbell ringers give their first performance
• 29 Mar 2007 • UNDER the direction of Marianne Wicks, the ringers first appeared in public at the coffee morning celebrating CAP’s 14th birthday, just six weeks after the group had been formed, and most of the members had been unable to make every weekly rehearsal.
‘Aura Lee’ (the tune that inspired Elvis Presley to record ‘Love me Tender’) was followed by ‘Happy Birthday’. As an encore, ‘Happy Birthday’ was played again while members sang.
The ringers will be performing again on April 22 at the Palacio de Congresos, Estepona, as part of CAP’s contribution towards International Day.
CAP (Club Charity and Pleasure) is a non-profit organisation based in El Paraiso, Estepona. As well as weekly social activities, we raise money for charity, mainly Aprona, Contra el Cancer and Los Claveles.
We meet for coffee each Wednesday at the El Paraiso Country Club.
