Measures to make ITV easier

THE JUNTA de Andalucia has taken measures to assure that taking vehicles in the region for their MOT (in Spanish, ITV, Inspeccion Tecnica de Vehiculos) will be a lot easier for the owners. Now, a service is being offered, for vehicles owners to receive an SMS text message alert on their mobile phones to tell them when it is nearly time for their vehicles to pass the test. Furthermore, the time and date can be reserved on the internet and users can call 902 575 757 to find out times, prices, location and the documents they need to take with their vehicles to the official MOT.

This project aims to prevent queues at the 48 inspection centres in Andalucia and modernise the service to make it more accessible and easier to use. Approximately 2.2 million vehicles are expected to be tested during the year.
