Films for Calpe

• 19 Apr 2007 •

Decision: Javier Marato and Paloma Granados.AS from last week, the auditorium of the Casa de Cultura is to begin a double life as a cinema, showing Spanish-language films that will include Oscar winners “Pan’s Labyrinth” and “The Queen” while young filmgoers will be catered-for with “Happy Feet” and the French film, “Azur and Asmar.”

Calpe’s mayor, Javier Marató, accompanied by the head of the Culture department, Paloma Granados, explained that the town hall’s decision to show films had been prompted by the popular demand for a cinema in the town.

She also said that admission to the showings would be free until May 1.

The Casa de Cultura films will be shown at 8.30pm each Friday and at 7.30pm on Sundays and fiesta days until the end of June, restarting in September.
