Fiestas Singulares promote provincial culture

• 19 Apr 2007 •

Alora stalls.PLAZA DE LA MARINA in Malaga was filled with local culture and tradition last Saturday, as part of the second edition of the Fiestas Singulares. Actors from the inland town of Cajíz welcomed a large crowd of spectators who could watch different plays and shows performed by residents of 19 towns from the province of Malaga participating in the

day-long festival.

Furthermore, the visitors had the opportunity to taste samples of the local, traditional gastronomy of various towns, including soup from Alóra and ajoblanco from  Almachar.

The crowds took advantage of the good weather to watch ‘El Paso de Riogordo’ and ‘Pandas Verdiales’ from Malaga and wander from stall to stall where local products were on display or for sale.

The representative of the organising committee, Sara Sanchez, said that the Fiestas Singulares are a prelude to the Feria de los Pueblos y Ciudades de Malaga, which will be held at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Malaga from April 19-22.
