Protest: Demonstrators spell out their concerns.

WORKS by international painters who belong to the Foot and Mouth Painters Association that was created in 1956 by 50 handicapped artists from eight European countries will be on display in Malaga until April 27. The 50 works - created by artists through different techniques but without using their hands – are being shown at the Denis Belgrano Centre near El Mercado de la Merced.

Works by Alejandro Pinazo, Mavi Rodriguez and Virginia Polo, from Malaga, will appear alongside paintings by artists from Singapore, Germany, South Africa, Italy, Switzerland and the United States. The association aims to teach people who have lost the use of their hands to use their feet and mouths to create art and express themselves.

Twenty-seven Spanish artists belong to the association which is totally self-funded through the sale of paintings, calendars and cards.
