Benalmadena hosts beach-soccer championship
The perfect holiday: Sun, sea, sand and.....soccerEUROPE’s largest amateur beach soccer championship will take place in Benalmadena, Costa del Sol.

The ‘European Beach Soccer Championship’ is the ideal way of combining soccer and holidays.

Nearly 100,000 euros of prize- money in total is available for the ‘Men’s Amateur Tour 2008’ and the ‘Women’s Tour 2008’. and there will be worldwide highlight summaries broadcast on television and other news media.

During the qualification weeks in May, June, September and October, up to 1,300 male and 400 female teams (maximum of 10 players a team) fight for the tickets for the big one-week final in October.

A tournament week lasts from Sunday to Sunday (arrival to departure). There are 14 qualification weeks from May 5 to July 28 and from September 8 to October 18. The big one- week final is from October 20 to 26. It is possible for teams to benefit from special offers on hotels, car rental and everything they need to make their holidays perfect.

Moreover, the appeal of the European Beach Soccer Championship will be strengthened support from international TV stations. Amateurs will become TV stars!

Television will show 15 highlight summaries of each tournament week. In addition to the best beach soccer scenes, there will be a great deal of side events, emotions, interviews…

Some of the international TV stations are DSF (Deutsches SportFernsehen) with German commentary as well as an English version for Showtime Arabia (North Africa + Middle East), Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation, Dspor (Turkey) and StarHub (Southeast Asia). The official web site, www.beachsoccer.tv offers video on demand throughout the whole championship.
