A PATENT for a 3D stereoscopic system has been awarded to Apple. Plans are to develop a ‘Three-Dimensional Display System’ application which will be a projection screen with an ‘angularly responsive reflective surface’. This could mean that we will be sporting 3D iPhones, iPads, and Macs in the future.

Apple may even be thinking about getting into the 3DTV market. Once developed, this technology would allow Apple to bring holographic images to the viewer’s naked eye, no need for special glasses.

It may even be possible for different viewers to watch entirely different things on the same screen, each enjoying their own 3D experience.

The combination of dome technology with 3D scanners will allow TVs to find viewer’s eyes, which means that unlike today’s 3D TVs, one will not have to sit fixedly in one place to watch the 3D images.
