Seventy-two illegal immigrants were intercepted off the coasts of Almeria and Motril over the past weekend. One boat was brought into Motril carrying 42 men 17 women and five babies. One person was taken to a health centre to be treated for burns caused by diesel and sea water.
Another 21 men and a woman were rescued after their boat was spotted from the control tower at Almeria airport. All were Moroccans and in good health.
