Murcia councillor brutally attacked

The Murcia councillor for Culture, Pedro Alberto Cruz, was brutally attacked outside his home on Saturday. Two men are thought to have followed him home, where a third was waiting, and the councillor was attacked with a knuckle-duster, sustaining blows all over his body, including his face. He underwent emergency surgery.

He is a direct family member of Charo Cruz, the wife of regional president, Ramon Luis Valcarcel. The attackers allegedly made reference to the family.
